NYSSCA EDGE: BEST PRACTICES MAGAZINE

The NYSSCA Edge magazine is a publication of best practices developed and delivered by school counselors in New York State. By definition, “best practices” are professional procedures that are accepted or prescribed as being correct or most effective. For school counselors this may include successful small groups, innovative individual interventions, effective classroom guidance lessons, unique or creative ways to distribute information, etc. A “best practice” may also include how you are implementing aspects of the ASCA National Model into your counseling program.

School counselors are encouraged to submit an article for consideration. If you have an idea, but are not sure how to put it together into an article, please email the EDGE editor at EDGE@NYSSCA.org and let us help you develop your idea into a “best practice” article.
