The NYSSCA Administrator of the Year Award recognizes a department, building or district leader who has provided outstanding support to the school counseling profession. Nominations can be made by the nominee or a colleague of the nominee. The award will be presented at the NYSSCA Annual Conference.

Eligibility

• The administrator must be nominated by a member of NYSSCA.
• The nominee must be currently employed as a full-time administrator or recently retired.

RECOGNITION CRITERIA

1. The nominee demonstrates awareness and knowledge of New York State K-12 School Counseling Regulations.
2. The nominee has been responsible for school counseling program innovations or development of the district comprehensive school counseling program aligning with the New York State K-12 School Counseling Regulations
3. The nominee demonstrates outstanding qualities of leadership, advocacy and collaboration in his/her work promoting equity and access to rigorous educational opportunities for all students to maximize student achievement.
4. The nominee demonstrates strong professional and civic activities.
